Our Story

It all begins with your unique vision and the beauty of natural wood…

At Batson Creek, we focus on creating beautiful one-off works of art for individual customers as well as higher quantity orders for restaurants, wineries, breweries and retail locations.

When buying a charcuterie board or a dining table, the process starts with choosing your piece of lumber and is carried through with an exchange of ideas and designs to produce the piece that is perfect for you.

We source our lumber locally from small one man operations to medium size family owned businesses. Our lumber isn’t purchased in bulk, but hand selected. Each piece is chosen specifically for the purpose it will be used. Sometimes dozens of boards are looked at to get that one special plank. At Batson Creek, we have also used vintage and recalaimed lumber and have connections throughout the region. Our suppliers know what we want and contact us when there is something special that may fit our project profile.

Customer Satisfaction is 100% Guaranteed

At Batson Creek our credo is customer service above all. At the end of the day, your satisfaction is a beautiful, quality product, perfectly suited to you, and our satisfaction is seeing the smile on your face when you see it for the first time.

Jamie Tokarz Cabinetmaker

Jamie is a woodworker with an impassioned approach to design. He has a deep appreciation for the precision and quality of working with hand tools and a respect for power tools and how both compliment each other in the manufacturing process. Jamie also has an admiration for the natural beauty of trees and the infinite variety of forms they can take, often seeing unique pieces emerging out of the grain. He started woodworking at a young age with his father and uncle, started his professional woodworking career in 1985 and formally learned his craft at the Mohawk College Cabinetmaking program in Hamilton Ontario and has honed his skills with local companies as well as his own. Jamie’s unique and beautiful creations can be found in restaurants, wineries, breweries, retail stores, boardrooms and homes.
